The MGB family consists of Small Form Factor Pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules specially designed for high-performance integrated bidirectional data connections over single-mode optical fiber. These transceiver modules comply with the SFP Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) and are hot-pluggable. They offer a way to easily install into SFP MSA compliant ports at any time without interrupting the operation of the host equipment.
The MGB family: SFP Mini-GBIC Gigabit Ethernet modules can be installed in PLANET Switch products with the SFP Mini-GBIC interface. The transmission distance can be extended from 100 meters (TP), 550 meters (Multi-Mode, LC), to 120 kilometers (Single-Mode, LC).
