To turn on the ITAG, press the item finder function button once; it should emit a single beep when powered on.
To turn it off, press and hold the same button for at least 3 seconds. You will hear two beeps indicating that your item finder has been turned off.
To locate your item finder using the Find My app, it is recommended to have the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS installed.
Launch the app. Open the Find My app on your supported iPhone or iPad. Allow notifications from the app.
Turn on your item finder, then select the Items tab in the Find My app.
Tap your item finder from the list.
The last known location of your item finder will appear on the map using the emoji you selected during setup.
To navigate to the last known location, tap Directions to open the Maps app.
To enable Notify When Left Behind, open the Find My app and select the Items tab.
Tap your item finder from the list.
Under Notifications, enable Notify When Left Behind.
You will receive a notification if you leave your item finder behind and it is no longer within range of your device.
Under Notifications, enable Notify When Found.
When your item finder is detected by another Find My-enabled device, you will receive a notification with its updated location.
Note: Notify When Found can only be enabled when your item finder is out of range.
Open the Find My app and select the Items tab.
Tap your item finder from the list.
Under Lost Mode, tap Enable.
A screen detailing Lost Mode will appear—tap Continue.
Enter your phone number or email, then tap Next.
Enter a message to be shared with the person who finds your item.
Tap Enable to activate Lost Mode.
Note:
When Lost Mode is activated, Notify When Found is automatically enabled.
Your item finder will be locked and cannot be paired with a new device until Lost Mode is disabled.
Remove your item finder from the Find My app:
Open the Find My app and select the Items tab.
Tap your item finder from the list.
Make sure Lost Mode is disabled.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Remove Item. Confirm by tapping Remove.
Factory reset your item finder: after successfully removing it from Find My, quickly press the function button repeatedly. You will hear a beep with each press, and on the fifth press, hold until you hear a chime.
To carefully open the casing, use your fingernails in the small gap on the side of the item finder.
Replace the battery with a new CR2032, placing it with the plus (+) side facing up and the text facing upward.
Carefully close the item finder, aligning the top holes on both sides.
If your phone detects an unknown item finder traveling with you, it will send a notification and play a sound so you can locate it.
These alerts activate only when the item finder is not paired with its owner’s phone.
