HDMI 2.0 provides backward compatibility with previous versions while offering up to 18 Gbps bandwidth, delivering a much more advanced audio and video experience. HDMI 2.0 does not require a new cable or connector design. Modern High-Speed (Category 2) cables can carry this higher bandwidth. HDMI 2.0 supports video resolutions far exceeding current 1080p systems. 4K consists of 4000 horizontal and 2000 vertical lines, approximately four times the detail of 1080p.
