| Opening the Scoring Gap | Depress the two legs at the grip pads so the U-shaped ends bypass each other and form the tube scoring opening |
| Inserting the Tube | Insert the tube, then relax the grip on the legs to close the tool and engage the scoring blade |
| Scoring | Slowly rotate the tool in a forward direction for approximately 2–4 revolutions (fewer or more revolutions may be needed depending on tube size or material) |
| Removing the Tube | Depress the tool legs once again to remove the tube |
| Breaking and Separating | Firmly grasp the tube at either side of the score and gently flex it to break it at the score; separate the tube sections to access the fibers |
