HDCVI technology supports the simultaneous transmission of four signals — video, audio*, data, and power — over a single coaxial cable. Two-way data transmission allows the HDCVI camera to interact with the HCVR, such as sending control signals or triggering alarms. In addition, HDCVI technology supports PoC (Power over Coax) for greater installation flexibility.
Audio input is available on select HDCVI camera models.
HDCVI technology ensures real-time transmission without any loss over long distances. It supports transmission up to 800m (1080P) / 1200m (720P) via coaxial cable, and up to 300m (1080P) / 450m (720P) via UTP cable.*

Its plug-and-play approach enables effortless Full HD video surveillance without network configuration.
The camera is designed with microcrystalline IR LEDs to provide optimal infrared illumination and excellent low-light performance. Smart IR technology ensures brightness uniformity in black-and-white images under low-light conditions. Dahua’s unique Smart IR automatically adjusts the intensity of the camera’s infrared LEDs to compensate for object distance and prevent overexposure as objects move closer to the camera.
The camera supports multiple video formats, including HDCVI, CVBS, and two other common HD analog formats. The four formats can be switched via the OSD menu or the PFM820 (UTC controller). This feature makes the camera compatible not only with HCVRs but also with most existing HD/SD DVRs on the market.
The OSD menu provides multiple image and function settings to meet various monitoring requirements. It includes configurations such as backlight mode, day/night, white balance, and privacy mask. The camera supports 11 OSD menu languages: Chinese, English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Polish.
The camera’s exceptional reliability is ensured by its robust design. With an IP67 rating, the camera is water- and dust-resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications. With an operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C (-40°F to +140°F), the camera is designed to perform reliably in extreme environments. Supporting ±25% input voltage tolerance, it performs well even under unstable power supply conditions. A 4KV lightning rating provides effective protection against lightning and surge effects.
