The VIP-157S is a 2-port Analog Telephone Adapter with 2 FXS interfaces, allowing you to connect two analog phones, or one analog phone and one fax machine. This enables you to use your existing analog phones or fax machines to make calls over the Internet. The VIP-157S supports T.38 fax and works with most SIP-based Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The VIP-157S includes two Ethernet interfaces for Internet (PPPoE, DHCP, or Static IP) or office LAN connection. In addition to IPv6, VPN (PPTP and L2TP), VLAN, and PLANET Easy Dynamic DNS features, the VIP-157S is a smart, low-density Voice over IP (VoIP) gateway that delivers carrier-grade residential and business IP telephony services to two standard RJ11 phones via broadband or high-speed Internet connection. The 10/100 LAN port eliminates the need for a second Ethernet drop and allows extension to another device.
Free VIP-to-VIP Calls
Calls made from one VIP-157S device to another VIP-157S device anywhere in the world are always free! The VIP-157S allows you to use your analog devices with any SIP trunk provider. Just plug the ATA into your broadband router and connect your analog devices to the ATA. The VIP-157S can also connect to your broadband router and another IP device like a PC. The 2-port RJ45 router includes integrated QoS to prioritize voice traffic over other types. It supports up to five VoIP services or SIP accounts.
