The PLANET WDAP-8350 comes with a high transmission power of 500mW, capable of bridging two remote nodes over the 5GHz frequency band while providing customers with 2.4GHz wireless access over longer distances. Its fully shielded hardware design prevents direct lightning strikes and protects against unpredictable harsh weather conditions. In addition, the WDAP-8350 adopts a high-grade Qualcomm Atheros SoC (System-on-a-Chip) and Dual-OS Backup mechanism, delivering greater stability to meet the stringent requirements of outdoor solutions.

All-Weather Resistant Protection
With its IP66-rated aluminum enclosure, lightning arrester, heater design, and wide operating temperature range from -40 to 70 degrees C, the PLANET WDAP-8350 can operate normally under severe weather conditions such as thunderstorms and extreme hot or cold climates. This ensures that connectivity remains as stable as in general environments.

Greater Flexibility for Outdoor Applications
By leveraging its dual RF design and optional specific types of higher-gain antennas connected through N-Type antenna connectors, the WDAP-8350 can adapt to various applications. These include connecting IP cameras across multiple locations to a security control center for surveillance systems or relaying wireless signals from urban to suburban areas to provide wireless Internet services to rural residents. With the WDAP-8350, an outdoor wireless infrastructure can be rapidly established, enabling a long-distance, dual-purpose outdoor deployment.
Seamless Failover and Roaming
In real-world scenarios, redundancy is critical. The WDAP-8350 supports an automatic failover mechanism using dual images (Dual Operating Systems), allowing it to switch immediately to the standby OS in case the active OS fails. This eliminates the challenge of providing real-time long-distance support and makes failover as simple as possible. Moreover, it enhances client handover among APs by improving the negotiation process, reducing transition times between APs and associated clients. This allows clients to switch rapidly to the nearest AP without connection loss. By taking advantage of automatic backup and fast roaming, the WDAP-8350 achieves uninterrupted failover and seamless roaming.
High-Efficiency and Practical Solution for Application Separation
The PLANET WDAP-8350 supports multiple SSIDs (up to 16 sets per band) to ensure that each virtual wireless network can belong to a different security group. Furthermore, through VLAN tagging, each VAP can be mapped to a specific virtual network, enabling the isolation of guest and corporate networks. Additionally, its dynamic rate adaptation mechanism for multicast prevents bandwidth waste from multicast packets, thereby ensuring wireless bandwidth efficiency, guaranteed QoS, or a stable video streaming rate.

Advanced Value-Added Features
Equipped with an IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack network, the WDAP-8350 can operate with existing IPv4 network infrastructure while also supporting advanced IPv6 networks, enabling a smooth transition from IPv4 to IPv6. With its dynamic power-saving mode, it can automatically detect traffic loads with low standby power consumption, reducing overall power usage by more than 30%.
Easy Deployment and Management
Compliant with the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (Power over Ethernet) standard, the WDAP-8350 can be powered through a single UTP cable while simultaneously transmitting data. This reduces the need for additional cabling and dedicated power outlets in outdoor environments, making WLAN deployments more flexible and cost-effective. In addition, remote configuration of the WDAP-8350 is facilitated by the PLANET Smart Discovery Utility, while Wireless Location Management makes it easy to identify and monitor online clients.
