24-Port Gigabit PoE Managed Stackable Switch
Centralized Power Management Feature for Enterprise and SMB Gigabit Ethernet Networks with PoE
To meet the growing demand for Gigabit PoE network applications, PLANET has introduced the SGSW-24040P/SGSW-24040P4 — a 24-Port Gigabit PoE managed and stackable switch. Featuring reliable stacking and advanced networking capabilities, the SGSW-24040P/SGSW-24040P4 optimizes the deployment and power management of advanced Gigabit PoE devices such as wireless access points, IP phones, and security cameras. The SGSW-24040P also provides a scalable design suitable for current and future network infrastructures, offering flexibility in installation, operation, and management.
Ideal for Enterprises, Telecoms, and Campus Networks
The SGSW-24040P Series is the ideal PoE Gigabit Switch solution for large-scale deployments in businesses, telecom environments, and campus networks. With high performance and cost-efficiency, the SGSW-24040P series supports 802.11n APs, megapixel PoE IP cameras, PoE VoIP phones, and more through Gigabit-speed LAN ports. By integrating data and power over a single cable, the switch eliminates the need for separate AC wiring — saving time and costs. Additionally, it facilitates installation in ceilings, walls, or other hard-to-reach areas by removing the need for extra power outlets. Each port can deliver up to 15.4W, with a total power budget of 380W, meeting the power needs of multiple devices simultaneously.
Cost-Effective IPv6 Gigabit Managed Switching Solutions for SMBs
Supporting both IPv4 and IPv6 management, the SGSW-24040P series is compatible with traditional IPv4 networks and future-ready IPv6 infrastructure. Its user-friendly web interface offers comprehensive management capabilities. For service providers and SMBs transitioning to IPv6 networks or deploying FTTx services, the SGSW-24040P is a strong candidate.
High-Density, Flexible Deployment for Expanding Gigabit Networks
The SGSW-24040P/SGSW-24040P4 includes 24 IEEE 802.3af PoE injector-enabled 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit ports, 4 shared Gigabit SFP slots, and 2 dedicated HDMI-type stacking ports. Supporting up to 16 units and 384 Gigabit Ethernet ports within a stack, the switch allows flexible port expansion. The built-in stacking ports offer 5Gbps bandwidth and up to 20Gbps bidirectional throughput. This supports high-throughput backbones or unit-based 68Gbps switching capacity. The stacking feature provides cost-effective integration with chassis-based switches.
Robust Layer 2 Features
The SGSW-24040P series includes powerful Layer 2 capabilities, such as dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, MSTP, Layer 2–4 QoS, bandwidth control, and IGMP snooping. It supports 802.1Q tagged VLANs with up to 255 VLAN groups. Port trunking allows up to 16 ports per trunk and 12 trunk groups, ensuring high-performance connections with failover support.
Efficient and Secure Management Features
Equipped with console, web, and SNMP interfaces, the SGSW-24040P series offers efficient network management. Its web-based GUI provides platform-independent administration. It supports SNMP and is compatible with third-party management software. For CLI-based management, Telnet and console access are available. SSH, SSL, and SNMPv3 are supported to ensure encrypted, secure remote sessions.
Advanced Security
The switch features advanced Layer 2–4 Access Control Lists (ACLs) to filter traffic based on IP, TCP/UDP ports, or application types. It supports 802.1x and MAC-based authentication. Private VLANs isolate edge ports for enhanced privacy. Additional security includes IP source guard, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection, and protection against malicious MAC addresses, allowing network admins to build secure enterprise networks with less effort.
Flexible Uplink and Fiber Expansion
With four built-in mini-GBIC slots, the switch supports 100Base-FX and 1000Base-SX/LX SFP modules. Admins can adjust the SFP modules based on required distances — from 550m to 2km (multi-mode fiber) or 10/50/70/120km (single-mode or WDM fiber), making it ideal for corporate data centers and remote branches.
Department / Workgroup PoE Switch
With up to 24 Gigabit PoE ports and in-line power support, the SGSW-24040P4 can power wireless APs, IP phones, and megapixel IP cameras, creating a centralized power network. For example, 24 IP cameras and wireless APs can be installed in key areas for surveillance and wireless roaming. With no power socket limitations, the switch simplifies deployment in difficult-to-reach locations.

As video surveillance systems become more critical in factories, warehouses, and public spaces, PoE-enabled IP cameras provide a reliable solution where power outlets are scarce. In industrial or storage facilities, cameras can be installed regardless of power outlet placement. Acting as a central power controller, the SGSW-24040P4 enables remote power monitoring via web UI, SNMP traps, and SNMP polling. It allows administrators to receive device status and alerts instantly, and even manage PoE cameras remotely — improving operational efficiency.
