Access Control System – Traditional Deployment
Most enterprises and governments use access control panels and Mifare or RFID to authorize entry credentials. In a traditional deployment, access control machines use RS-232 or RS-485 serial interfaces and cabling connected to the login server. With the ICS-10x Serial connection via Fast Ethernet Converter, the access control machine can be extended to longer distances via the fiber optic interface. The distance can be up to 20 km in a local range. The ICS-10x can also be connected to an xDSL router to gain Internet access; access control can then be configured and monitored over the Internet.

Process Control
PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) is required to monitor, configure, and manage the robot carrier and other machines in the manufacturing process. ICS-10x can be set to TCP Server mode and connected to the PLC. Therefore, administrators can remotely configure and set command settings to the PLC through the Fast Ethernet intranet to control administrators and workstations. It is not necessary for administrators to always be next to the I/O machine.

RTU Data Collection – UDP Mode
RTU (Remote Terminal Unit) can be applied to collect and monitor wave, signal, and power usage data. By connecting the RTU to ICS-10x in UDP mode, data can be automatically sent to a local server over Fast Ethernet or to a remote server over the Internet.
Surveillance Movement Control – Dual Link Mode
Using dual link with fiber optic interconnection cable, ICS-10x extends remote centralized surveillance monitoring with control keyboard/joystick via RS-232 / RS-422 / RS-485 interfaces.
