8-Port 10/100Mbps + 2G TP / SFP Combo Managed 802.3at PoE Switch
High-Power PoE for Security and Public Area PoE Applications
The PLANET FGSD-1022HP is a next-generation managed PoE switch that delivers up to 30 watts of power and data output per port through a single CAT 5E/6 Ethernet cable using the IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+) standard. The product is specially designed to meet the power demands of high-consumption network devices. For example, PTZ (Pan, Tilt & Zoom, Speed Dome) cameras and multi-channel (802.11a/b/g/n) wireless LAN access points can deliver twice the PoE power compared to traditional 802.3af PoE currently in use.
Flexible and Centralized Power Management
The FGSD-1022HP’s 8 PoE ports support both 802.3af and 802.3at PoE standards, allowing users to flexibly connect standard and high-power devices simultaneously. With a total PoE power budget of 150 watts, it easily supports either eight 15.4-watt IEEE 802.3af devices or five 30-watt IEEE 802.3at devices without power socket limitations.
To simplify power management, the FGSD-1022HP incorporates robust PoE management features such as overheat protection, usage limit warnings, and automatic power allocation to prevent overloads. The PoE power limit is prioritized and classified, and alerts are sent to alarm logs when power consumption reaches defined thresholds. The FGSD-1022HP centralizes power supply and helps optimize installation and power management for remote network devices, eliminating extra AC wiring costs and reducing installation time.
Pre-Standard Compliance for IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet
Until now, the IEEE 802.3af PoE standard has become popular and its demand continues to grow in network applications. However, in many critical applications, the IEEE 802.3af standard cannot meet the trend of high power demands. Therefore, the IEEE 802.3at PoE standard is defined to provide up to 30 watts per PoE device. Using the RJ-45 port interface directly is an ideal solution to address these higher power needs. Along with IEEE 802.3at compatibility, the FGSD-1022HP series offers greater power capacity than existing 802.3af PoE switches.
Fully Functional and Robust Layer 2 Features
The FGSD-1022HP series supports essential switch management functions such as VLAN, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), QoS, bandwidth control, and IGMP snooping. It provides 802.1Q tagged VLAN and supports up to 256 VLAN groups. Through port aggregation, the WGSW-20160HP supports trunking of multiple ports and fail-over capability. Additionally, system logs and alarms can be recorded and monitored via SNTP for security tracking by administrators.
Excellent Traffic Control
With powerful traffic management and QoS features, the FGSD-1022HP enhances connectivity services for SMBs. QoS includes Layer 4 traffic classification and bandwidth control, which are especially useful in multi-user units, multi-business units, Telco or VoIP environments, uninterrupted video and voice broadcasting, and multicast scenarios used by network service providers.
Easy Usage and Powerful Management Features
For efficient management, the FGSD-1022HP series is equipped with console-managed Ethernet switch interfaces, WEB, and SNMP. Its built-in web-based interface provides easy usage, independent platform management, and configuration options. The FGSD-1022HP supports the standard network management protocol (SNMP) and can be managed via any standard-based management software. For text-based management, access is available through Telnet and console ports. Furthermore, the FGSD-1022HP supports secure remote management with SSL encryption for each session and SNMPv3 connections.
Effective Security
The MGSW-FGSD-1022HP offers a comprehensive Access Control List (ACL) designed to maximize security. Its security mechanisms include port-based 802.1x and MAC-based user and device authentication. The port security function effectively limits the number of clients and users, enabling network administrators to deploy and manage highly secure corporate networks with less time and effort.
Extension and Flexibility Solutions
The FGSD-1022HP series includes two built-in mini-GBIC slots supporting 1000Base-SX/LX and WDM SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber optic modules. Additionally, administrators can now configure the SFP transceiver not only by signal type but also by signal distance. Distance can be set from 550m (multi-mode fiber) up to 10/30/50/70/120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). This flexibility is ideal for corporate data centers and their extensions.
Train Station - IEEE 802.3at Compatible IP Surveillance and Wireless Devices
When applied beyond the PoE standard, the IEEE 802.3at protocol enables the FGSD-1022HP to directly support any IEEE 802.3at endpoint devices such as PTZ (Pan, Tilt & Zoom) network cameras, Speed Dome IP cameras, color and touchscreen VoIP phones, and multi-channel wireless LAN access points. Alongside wired Internet networks, the FGSD-1022HP facilitates more efficient wireless LAN distribution for large-scale transportation stations, bringing high-speed Internet service to wide areas. By adopting PoE wireless LAN infrastructure, transportation authorities can provide better Internet access to travelers while achieving cost savings.

IP Office
As workplaces and areas expand, additional phone installations can be done much more affordably with PoE IP phone systems instead of traditional wired phones. The FGSD-1022HP series helps companies build more efficient and integrated data, voice, and power-based VoIP networks. PLANET IEEE 802.3at compatible IP phones can be installed without any power cables, as they receive power through the FGSD-1022HP series' standard Ethernet cable. Both PoE IP phones and analog phones can receive power over Ethernet with the FGSD-1022HP.
With the FGSD-1022HP series, IP phone installation becomes more reliable and cost-effective, enabling companies to save significantly when transitioning from traditional phone systems to IP telephony.
